MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK
We invite you to join us by volunteering your time and talents, and being rewarded with the joy and satisfaction of knowing that you are making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. And you’ll likely make some new friends as well.
We are a volunteer-led organization with more than 150 volunteers, including our Board of Directors. Ours is a positive and supportive organization where we combine work with fun and put our hearts into everything we do. We welcome everyone, recognizing that each of us contributes our own unique experiences, skills and talents that make us a better organization.
If you're considering volunteering, please complete our Volunteer Interest Form.
- Volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID. A booster is highly recommended.
Volunteers who are in contact with our visitors must wear a mask.
During the school year, we are in need of volunteers to help us assemble and pack bags of food at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday mornings for our BackPack program. You’ll enjoy spending time with other volunteers while you help support this weekend food program for our area youngsters.
Do you like to drive and have a good safety record? We need drivers to pick up food and supplies from local grocery stores, warehouses, suppliers, and distribution sites. Drivers and loaders are needed most mornings of the week for these food pickups. We especially appreciate drivers who can lift between 30 and 40 pounds.
A member of each household visiting the food bank registers with our friendly office staff, who ensure that they are welcomed and assisted. If you have computer skills and a warm way with people, we would really value your help.
Do you enjoy positive interactions with others and value people from diverse backgrounds? If so, you would enjoy assisting us with the setup and operation of our market days from 9 am - 1 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and 8 am-noon on Saturdays at our Sahuarita location. Tasks include setting up the market, moving boxes of food, greeting visitors, and distributing items to them as well as helping them shop and transport food to their vehicles.
Stocking and Shelving
If you are able to lift and carry objects or boxes up to 30-40 pounds, we could use your help restocking and organizing our pantry, refrigerators, and freezers.
