ABOUT US
In 2009, the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona saw a great need for food in Sahuarita and nearby communities. The Good Shepherd United Church of Christ began hosting the Sahuarita Food Bank, which served just a few families each week. We now serve 350-450 families each week.
The Sahuarita Food Bank became an independent Arizona nonprofit in early 2018. As an independent nonprofit we are able to grow and expand our services to better meet the needs of our community.

Fundraising for a new building began in 2018. This was completed, and the beginning of 2022 saw us settling into our own 14,300-square-foot building. We now offer many services and programs which meet the needs for family support, health/nutrition and workforce skill development. These programs improve economic and overall well-being.
We are committed to:
-
Building relationships and partnerships with people and organizations who share our values and vision of a healthy, hunger-free community.
-
Excelling in the delivery of our services to benefit clients, donors, and the communities we serve.
-
Being resourceful and innovative in addressing hunger and its root causes.
-
Promoting diversity and inclusion and treating each person with dignity and respect.
-
Providing equal opportunities for our employees, volunteers, and those we serve.
-
Being a “healing and learning organization” that values and appreciates diverse views.
-
Empowering people to help their communities thrive.
